Balboa

We went over to the island and this year the ferry ride was much less scary. Bryce decided he was the captain (since he had a hat) and we had a good time with a lot of walking. Jocelyn was worn out by all the walking, as you can see.

Bryce at the Beach

Big wave!

Playing smash ball with Papa.

Riding my bike on the boardwalk (this usually ends up being Daddy carrying my bike home).

Daddy dug us a big hole!

Not totally sure what he's doing here, maybe some beach yoga. Probably just drinking the water.

This part by the Newport Pier is nice and shallow for a long way out, so Daddy did some surfing lessons for me, Uncle Eric and Levi.

Righteous!

Jocelyn at the Beach

Here are the fun things I did at the beach. I am getting close to crawling now, and really just wanted to get into the sand, so it wasn't especially relaxing for mommy, but I had a good time.

Making sure I have my baby sunscreen on.

Getting a tickle from mommy.

I love to stand, it makes me very proud of myself. Once I get started I will not sit until my legs give out. Silly girl.

Playing some frisbee. The best part of playing frisbee is when mommy put puffs in it and I get to munch them all by myself.
The beach is exhausting, especially when we visit Balboa.
Being matchy matchers with cousin Lydia.

Things we do at the beach

Hangin' with my daddy.
Nappin' with mommy.

Pretty girl
Wild beachy hair (Elvis would be proud).

The boys getting sand "frabs"
A big huge sand "frab".

Beach Time

It's that time of year again. Jocelyn started by checking out our fine reading material.

Yeah for digging!

Possibly his favorite thing at the beach so far.....big tractor sifting the sand.

Yep, mommy's getting very wet already.

Cousin Levi helping Bryce get on his vest. Cousin Leah was assisting.

Radical dude!

4th of July

Happy Independence Day America! We decided to show our dedication and celebrated by watching fireworks in Fresno, where it was well over 100. So if we look kinda sweaty in these pictures, well, it's because we were. Cause it was hot...a lot.

Here's a pre-festivities shot while we were still sort of cool at Grannie and Papa's house.

          What a fam!

Not sure how she managed to get this frisbee around her, but Jocelyn was having a pretty good time playing on her blanket until there was a vomit incident involving her cousin, and the blanket had to go bye bye. She is getting to be a quick mover and shaker, so mommy may or may not have almost pulled something trying to dive out of her beach chair to keep Jocelyn from rolling off the curb. Never a dull moment with our daughter.

Guess who's really excited for fireworks...this girl!

Guess who else is pretty excited (but also not sure he will like them)...nope, not daddy....

this boy!

Ooooh! They are pretty big and loud, but I am not afraid because I am rocking daddy's work earmuffs. (And the other kids don't seem to be too scared)

And now, I am tired since it's way past my bedtime so I'd better have daddy hold me for all of the home fireworks just in case they're scary.
Happy 4th of July everyone!

A Few More

Cause daddy is taking my 6 month pictures. Getting big!

And there's the outtake, where mommy is hysterical because she wanted Bryce to sit behind me and hold me and instead he sat behind mommy. What a boy.
