Happy Birthday Daddy-O
Birthday/Easter Dinner (This was supposed to happen on Easter, but didn't due to fever and fussy baby-see previous post)
The shirt I got Daddy:
Daddy's present from mommy (a dehydrator to make turkey jerky and fruit leather when our trees get bigger)
A rocking drum duet on the box
Yes, this cake looks like an accident, but it is supposed to be this way I promise, and yes, Andrew will be eating it by himself.

10 months!
Easter Fever
I know you are thinking, wow, they got their Easter blog up fast. Well, the fever in the title is unfortunately literal, so there was no Easter service for us for the very first time in (all) our lives. When Andrew got home from work at 2 last night Bryce had a fever and still does this morning so we are sitting it out. He is pretty grouchy (which you can't tell from the pictures) but was feeling good enough to play with his eggs in the grass.
It was mostly fun to pull them out of the grass and drop them around to see if they'd break, but a few got into the basket.
We also found an Easter frog in the grass which was pretty exciting. For those of you wondering, this is not our grass. We wish it was, but it will be another week before we see any of ours (hopefully).

Easter Time!
Even though mommy and daddy didn't actually let me touch the dye, and mommy ended up with one blue finger, we had some fun dyeing eggs today.
Getting ready...
(are these not the most precarious egg dyeing cups you've ever seen? They came with the set so we tried them out anyway)
Woo-hoo, they let me use the dipper! I am going to put my egg in it.

Boy in the Box
We have a picture of me when I was little in a huggies box. In theory, recreating it with Bryce was a good idea, but apparently he's way more wiggly than I was (he's also a little bigger than I was at the time). I may try and cram him in it again tomorrow to see if he'll sit the right way, today it was more fun to just tip himself over.

File This
Under 'things that happen when Daddy is watching me at Target while mommy goes to get bread". I went back to the boy's side where they were supposed to be getting Andrew an Easter shirt and my son came running out from the aisle to find me. In case you're missing it, check out his feet. I don't know if this says more to you about the cleanliness of the floors at Target, or about my forgetting to grab him some shoes since I figured he'd be in a cart the whole time.
Then we walked by a little girl who kindly remarked to her mom, "his pants are falling down". It just wasn't our best after-dinner trip to the store.

Getting Closer...
Thought you might like to see the progress on the giant awesome lawn project. We are going to seed it this weekend, by that I mean tomorrow when Andrew is finally off work. It may not look like we've done much, but the sprinklers are in now and it's tilled and the first leveling raking is done.
And a few more Bryce pictures thrown in. If you've had enough of those lately, just don't look.
This is his best Oh Boy! Look at all that dirt I can get into face.
Helping himself to some O's. I did give him the box because it matched his cute pj's that I wanted to get a picture of.
The face he makes now when he thinks he's supposed to smile for a picture.
There it is again.

The Zoo
Our friends, the Declercqs had their spring break this week, so we went down for a visit and to the Santa Ana Zoo. They have a zoo in Santa Ana you say? Mostly monkeys and a few camels, but Bryce and Garrett have a great time together, so they didn't care. We'll save the San Diego Zoo for when he can remember it.
Yes, that is a monkey, but since there are mostly monkeys at this zoo, I had to make Andrew stand next to it for a picture (Andrew hates monkeys).
You'll notice by how focused these guys are that there was a REALLY interesting thing in this cage. I think it was another monkey.
Bryce slept horribly the night before, so this was the first smile I got. Usually he is a big ham for the camera.
My 2 favorite boys.
