Good Friday

Today Bryce and I made our pie pan tomb. I suppose some people might see it as sacrilegious to wrap Jesus in a piece of toilet paper and put him in a pie pan filled with dirt, but this is one of the things I remember very clearly doing with my mom when I was little. I hope that Bryce remembers it too, and that he knows Jesus in an intimate way from the very beginning, and comes to understand his sacrifice for us.

Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.

2 Months Old!

Normally I really like him, but I'm not sure about the hug from big brother today.
Pretty girl.

Hi daddy!

Fishing Derby

Daddy was working the fishing derby with the firefighters so we went and tried our hand at fishing. He was very determined and stayed there for quite a while dipping his pole in the water and reeling it in. Some guy came over and told us he was impressed by Bryce's attention span. The boy just likes to fish.

Very shortly after this picture he took a digger off the edge of the rock and into the water. After a new shirt from the kind firefighters who were worried, he was back at it, squishy shoes and all.

It's been especially warm so we've been doing some of our potty training outside. These are going to make some great shots for the wedding slide show some day.

Quick break for something really interesting in the grass....
