Easter pics

This weekend we went to the park to document the big belly in some pictures for Easter. I figure these are safer to post first than the experimental/artsy ones we did later which actually show my belly. If we look tired, that is because someone (who will remain nameless) does not really sleep through the night very well anymore and wakes everyone up by rolling around trying to be comfortable...this someone tells their spouse that it is just practice for 2 a.m. feedings, to which he responds he will go sleep on the futon with the cats.

These will also help those of you who have forgotten what we look like since we've been up here so long now.

As you can see by this point I am carrying a 20 pounder, that has to be all baby right? :0)

Easter Tree!

This is maybe much more exciting to me than anyone else, but I just finished making our Easter tree. When we were in Europe last year, this is what they would put in the shop windows, and almost all of the buildings were decorated. My Swiss friend Tiana's family put one by our room especially for us. I thought it was such a nice idea, because we spend so much time decorating for Christmas, but nothing for Easter.

Ideally, I would have put it in a lovely glass vase, but we only brought some of our things up here, and the lovely vases didn't make the cut. So it will have to stay in Andrew's giant soccer tournament mug.

Spring has definitely come to Yuba City. There is a really nice wisteria plant at the park that is blooming all over the place. We are hopefully going to do some prego belly photos there this weekend if it lasts.

Baby Shower (#2)

Yesterday we had a great baby shower in Frenso given by my mother in law Shelley and Heidi (sister in law) at Heidi's new house. It tuned out to be quite the loud and good time (Shelley's friends are all rowdy, you'll have to ask her about it :0). We feel really blessed (again) to have such wonderful people interested in the arrival of this little guy. After this shower he will for sure be the best dressed kid around!

My second cake (made by Heidi) which you really wouldn't want to eat
unless you prefer the taste of diapers.

We played some games, all learned how to spell my name correctly, and ended up with a monstrous pile of tissue paper. Guess that makes it a pretty fun day!

Yesterday I lost the cat

Which is pretty hard to do in a two bedroom apartment, when he doesn't go outside except on his harness (much to the continued amusement of our neighbors). I looked everywhere for him and was even thinking about opening a can of tuna to get him to come out, then I spotted him.

Guess he just wanted to enjoy the spring sunshine and lovely flowers like everyone else. Isn't it wonderful that the sun has been around now for maybe a week and a half straight?

A Blog Retraction

Today, as I was dutifully measuring how many paperclips went around my ever-enlarging belly, I realized that the count I gave in the last measurement post was off. I am currently 24 and a 1/2 paperclips and must now admit that last time I was only 24, and not 26.

However, as the feeling of largeness is threatening to overwhelm me, I am really okay with 24 1/2 and not 26.

Also, since I am doing a post, and right before this was trying to organize the baby's things in our second bedroom, I am going to post pictures of a fantastic outfit I got for him in Ohio which is not really of the appropriate season right now. If no one else appreciates this, at least I am positive my dad will.

The scale of this tiny hoodie is a little hard to get in the picture, but since neither of the cats would oblige a modeling session, this is as good as it gets.

Go Bucks.

The Academy

Ladies, what is it about a man in a uniform? :0)

Thought you all might want to see how Andrew is doing with his training to become a ranger...I mean game warden (I think he may kill me for that one).

This picture makes me laugh, but if you know my husband, you'd be able to spot him easily as the one who is too warm to wear his sweatshirt like everyone else.

This, I am told, is how to handcuff a guy the right way.

2 flights, 0 on-plane baby deliveries

Even though the second trip wasn't planned, I am happy to say I made it through two plane flights now without going into labor by myself on the plane (a great fear of mine). I got back last night from Ohio and even managed to arrive without cankles this time. I was there for a week, so Andrew was again left to ration out the food I made ahead of time. It was a very good trip given the circumstances, and nice to see that side of the family (it's been 3 years now). I was there to see my grandpa whose cancer has returned and has had a rough past month with multiple hospital trips. The day before I left he was able to come home from the hospital and we had a big family welcome home party which I think made him very happy.

Please pray for my grandpa, especially for his appetite and physical comfort right now.

I was also able to spend some time with my cousin Amber which was great, it had been a long time.

A special message for some friends who weren't there when we stopped by their house.
