More Fun with Bryceman

Showing some leg. (We were half way through an outfit change here, I do normally put pants on my boy when it's cold).

Yes those are two different socks. Long story involving Bryce eating his socks every time we're in the car. Before I was a mom I used to think so differently about dressing a baby than I obviously do now. :0)

Sneaking up on mommy's camera.

Bryce's Room

As promised the one room left out of the house tour post, since Bryce was sleeping. I still need to get a wall shelf to put his Noah's ark from Africa on, but other than that good to go.

New shoes

Since I'm a walking man now (not on my own, only holding onto things) I need to wear big boy shoes. I am pretty excited about them as you can see.

My son does have big feet, but for some reason these shoes make them look huge. I guess he's not a little baby anymore.

More feeding myself fun. I'd say a face only a mother could love, but he's just so cute, I bet some grandparents could get in on that love too. Especially if they couldn't see the 3 gallons of pear that is in his hair just out of this shot.

Words

In an effort to produce real words from my son, I have gone over to the dark side. How? Most recently we have been working on "dada". I know all you moms are thinking I am crazy to let this golden opportunity to prove who's really the favorite parent slip by, but statistically the chances of us getting somewhere were better this way.

So was my thought process in planning anyway. He now very happily repeats it back to me with that twinkle in his eyes that says "This is a fun game" (if you have ever been around my son for very long, or looked at the pictures on this blog you know the twinkle I am speaking of). Unfortunately, I failed to realize the consequences of my training, and now everything is currently a "dada".

At 3 a.m. this morning the TV remote was a dada, as was the cat who walked on the couch to see what we were doing up at 3 (you don't want to know, but please pray that my son becomes a better sleeper).

During the post-bath diaper change this morning, the booger bulb (please google if this makes no sense to you, and you will find some interesting poetry) was a dada.

What has yet to be a dada however, is Andrew, since Bryce gets shy and won't even say it in front of him.

Moral of the story: in the quest for greatness, consider that the path to reach it is very long and narrow.

The Twinkle

Please note: I do not normally put rubber bands in my son's hair. This was a demonstration of the need to cut the front part so he can see what he's doing.

Me and my pal Garrett

Our good friends Adam and Laura came to visit this weekend. They brought their son Garrett with them of course, which made Bryce very happy. Bryce is 2 months younger than Garrett.

Footie pj's!

Cruisin' around....Bryce seemed to think Garrett was good for climing on to get around the furniture which is not really fair since he is a tiny bit heavier than Garrett.

Checking to make sure Garrett's pants are the right size.

Big tackle.

The Grand Tour

Our house is not anywhere near done yet, but I'm sure none of you care and would rather just finally see what it looks like. Since we had some good friends from college coming over today, and it's cleaner than some other times, you will get your wish (if Blogger, who is notoriously slow loading photos, will cooperate). Without further adieu:

Andrew's office

The TV room (names changed to prevent marital strife)

Random pedestal bathroom on the way to the kitchen/east wing

The Kitchen!!!! (Emphasis denoting great joy felt by the wife over owning this kitchen)

The Laundry Room/Pantry!!!!! (again emphasis denoting great joy)

View of the Kitchen!!!/dining area from the fantastic room (names changed to prevent marital strife)

The fantastic room (there is a fireplace as well but it is not added to prevent photo weariness)

Patio looking towards fantastic room sliding door

Back 40 (again only one picture)

Hallway of the west wing

Bryce's Bathroom

Bryce's room not included due to Bryce sleeping during photo session.

Other bedroom
Guest room

Master Bath

This completes our tour for the day. You may note the absence of the master bedroom, which is intentional due to messiness. Guess you'll just have to come and see it and Bryce's room for yourselves.

7 months old

Been 7 months for a while, but we just finally got around to the pictures.

This is Andrew's rocking horse from when he was little. He needed a little work, a new tail and is still earless, but pretty cute nonetheless.

A day in the life of a 7 month old

Taking a bath and looking suave:

Eating my bath cup and being not so suave:

Wrestling a box (since I have no brothers or sisters to wrestle, this will have to do):

Feeding myself yams (I know, what were mommy and daddy thinking with me still in my church clothes and no bib? Guess they will go to pretty great lengths for a few moments of peace during dinner)

Ever get the sneaking suspicion

that someone's sneaking up on you? I seem to have that a lot.

Sorry it's fuzzy grannie, but thought you'd like to see him with Daddy's toy car.

Cruiser

Cruising around the furniture is fun.

Eating things is fun too, but....

Hanging out with Daddy is funner! (since he has been working tons of overtime and was actually off for New Year's day)
