Visit

Miss Ambre came for a visit to see the house and Bryce since the last time she saw him he was 3 months old (and very fussy). He was quite taken with her and we had a good time while Andrew worked. Bryce is not going to know what to do without his backseat buddy for the ride to church and back.

Here I am trying to burn the burgers (Andrew usually makes them, and told me it was easy--not so much).

We still managed to eat it.

Splish Splash

Today it was not really that hot, but we broke out the kiddie pool anyway. I'm not going to say my boy is a big chunk, but that rashguard is definitely not slimming in the belly region.

Bryce is not the camera ham he used to be so we had to work really hard for this smiley shot for great grandma Daniels.

1 year old

I can't believe it's here already. Our little baby is one year old today.

Inspecting daddy's fish. (This is from yesterday, but I am one now, so I can eat fish, not so sure I want to though)

Went to Babies R Us for a present from my great grandpapa and Carmen. It's a phone. Oh boy!

And a nice car window shade so I am no longer blinded by the light. You can't hear it but he is saying hello. It sound like ley-lo.

Inspecting the new water table mommy and daddy got me. Yep mommy did an ok job putting it together.

At this point he is just wet, but by bedtime, it was wet and muddy (from helping daddy put in more drip line) so it was time to be hosed off and into pj's. What an awesome birthday!

King for a day, and this is my scepter.

Party!!!

This Saturday I had a party for my first birthday (which is actually Tuesday), and everyone came from far and wide, mostly far. We had lots of fun and the party went all day, and technically into the next morning if you count people staying. Mommy forgot to take pictures til the end cause she was a little busy, so some of these are courtesy of Aunt Quenby's phone.

Hanging out with buddies and enjoying all these new toys.

My new "indestructible" trike from mommy and daddy

Oooooo, Cake!

Hmm, what to do with this thing?

Cleaning Up

Tonight we were doing some cleaning up outside in preparation for Bryce's birthday party this weekend.

Being a very busy little boy, he decided to help, not really sure where he got the broom, but the effort was good even if the application was a little off.

At this point he found the place where the broom goes, but decided it would be better used to chase the cat. The cat declined to be in the photo.

Taking a break from "sweeping" to play bongos on the lantern.

Bathrobe Ninja

The camera decide to quit on me right before I got a picture of it, but my son was pretending to be a ninja with a dowel we were using to fix a towel rack. These are the before shots.

The Back 40

Our yard is shaping up after a lot of weekends and after-work days of working on it.

The Grass! (Can't walk on it yet, but it is looking green so that's exciting enough for now)

The Veg: Tomatoes, japanese eggplant, yellow, summer and zucchini squash, bush beans, peppers, buttercup squash, and cucumbers so far.

My herb basin (I am so excited about this, I got it a year ago at an estate sale and have had this plan for it since then): Thyme, oregano, mint, chocolate mint, pineapple sage, dill, tarragon, aloe. I have some basil, chives and chamomile in the raised beds.

The Orchard: White and regular nectarine, Meyer lemon, avocado (my 1st mother's day present) cherry, plum, apricot (maybe), and pomegranate, blueberry and raspberry bushes. If all this lives we will hardly have to go to the store :0) Most of these we got on deep clearance as bare root at the end of bare root season, so we are being kinda ambitious, but economical for this much tree.

Now we just need to put in the rest of the drip line around the edges so we can plant our potted stuff that has traveled all over with us before it frys in the Bako sun.

1st Mother's Day

Andrew and Bryce tried to make me a card. It was a very good effort, but mostly Bryce ate the crayons. They got me flowers, and made me a fancy dinner with scallops, lobster tail and an artichoke. Yum. We also finally got to wear our Easter clothes to church today.
