Guess Where My Nose Has Been

It's a little grungy, I wonder where it was.

Yep that explains it. Mommy, please come outside and play with me.

Thankfully the grungy face didn't stop him from enjoying his apple.

Yardwork

More work on the garden got done today, but nothing too strenuous.

Fed the ducks some peas (because apparently all animals like peas and pasta, perennial Bryceman faves)

Did some digging (oops, maybe that's the camera strap in the picture)

And some raking.
And the grand finale, planting some bean seeds.

We've Been Invaded

By giant people-eating tumbleweeds.

Small boy included for size. He is telling me that they're pokey, and he's right. Who knew the vegetation in Bakersfield could be so aggressive?

Enough

So in case you were wondering where we were this weekend when we dropped off the map, it's cause a lot of things went on at our house, and we worked til we dropped.

Here are our St Pattycakes. We didn't make them super green since I wanted to make sure he'd still eat them. That was not a problem...

Our friend Renee came from the OC for a visit and we had lots of fun. Bryce couldn't quite get her name down, but he enjoyed playing with "Lily" while she was here.

Then we tackled the back yard, and after a few trips to Lowe's, since the project turned out to be a little more complicated than we thought, our whole garden & orchard is plumbed for automatic drip lines, and a few things are planted in the new beds (more pictures later when we've picked up all the shovels and junk). How exciting!

Making a stake garden.

Mowing the back 40.
Guess they're worn out...

Nope, maybe only daddy is.
Some major cleaning happening in the kitchen.

And finally, now that we have it all done, he still wants to wear his working boots. Good thing it doesn't matter that they're on the wrong feet.

He's Got a Ticket to Ride

While we were at my parent's, we pretty much spent all of our time at the corner down the street, since the Gold Line goes right by there and Bryce is a little obsessed with the trains. He also got to take his first ride, which was pretty exciting.

With Grandpa gearing up for the big ride. He was looking very serious at this point.

Getting the ticket out of the very exciting trap door.

There it is!

Standing by the ding-dings (possibly the best part). We don't have any pictures of us on the train cause he was way too focused for the paparazzi.

Small Trip

We went for a quick midweek trip to Nana and Grandpa's house since Andrew was away doing training.

Bryce enjoyed the spoiling (because that is what grandparents are for). Here they are drawing at the frozen yogurt place.
Check out those lefties!

Playing some tunes.
More tunes.

What are we looking for?
Big hug!

A Few Things

Wow has it been a long time since I did a blog post, because we had a cold, and then after that we had another one just for good measure.

Last weekend we went up to Fresno for Shelley and Ryan's collective birthday, and as an added bonus got to see Splash Dogs! Bryce had a fever so his reaction to the dogs was not quite what we were hoping for, but he was still pretty excited. As you can see, I am pretty excited too (look for us in the back left of the crowd, but as you may note, a lot of other people have their mouths open too, so I don't feel quite as silly).
Our son seems to be firmly entrenched in his twos which has come with some extra prayers for patience (yes I know, he is not 2 til May, but he just does everything a little early to keep things interesting) Here he is trying not to have his picture taken in his owl hat.

And once again, trying to to have his picture taken in full worker-man regalia.

Here's a flash of his happy attitude.

And another kind of flash (he was really getting into the full worker-man character)
